Growing up between Nepal’s cities and villages shaped an early sensitivity to people, rituals, and the unnoticed moments of everyday life.
Years later, moving abroad placed him in a familiar position once again:
observing from the margins. Photography became a way of navigating distance, rebuilding purpose, and understanding both place and self.

Working exclusively in black and white,
Vik strips images down to light, shadow, and feeling.
Using analogue and digital cameras paired with vintage lenses,
his approach is instinctive and unobtrusive.
He walks with the belief that the streets generate their own scenes;
his role is simply to recognize them before they disappear.

Drawn to photography’s ability to preserve fleeting moments,
Vik photographs less with the intention of documenting events and more with the desire to hold onto emotions that might otherwise vanish.
His images often isolate figures within architecture and negative space,
creating room for viewers to see themselves through shared experiences and quiet acts of humanity.

Whether made in Nepal, Prague, or elsewhere,
his work is ultimately less about what is seen and more about what is felt.
